ZOLLER’S NEWLY DEVELOPED »POM« PRODUCT SERIES

ZOLLER's »pom« product series is a new type of inspection machine designed especially for use in the tool manufacturing industry, as well as grinding and sharpening companies. »pom« machines are equipped with special functionalities required, e.g. for the production of milling cutters or drills and use directly next to the CNC machine.

ZOLLER‘s (Ann Arbor, MI) »pom« — short for »process-oriented-measuring« — product series is a new type of inspection machine designed especially for use in the tool manufacturing industry, as well as grinding and sharpening companies. »pom« machines are equipped with special functionalities required, e.g. for the production of milling cutters or drills and use directly next to the CNC machine. Developed for sample inspection and quick tool checks, »pom« machines are built small and compact and can thus easily fit in any production environment.

High-resolution CCD color cameras enable a precise inspection of the cutting edge in incident light and a 6-fold magnification provides the option to measure both small and large tool geometries at the same time. Depending on the cutting edge contour, the user simply defines measuring points and lines per mouse click. The measuring results are then automatically displayed in a clearly laid-out overview table, can be printed, stored in the ZOLLER database or directly transferred to the network. The operating software is versatile, extremely user-friendly and has a sophisticated step-by-step help system.

ZOLLER »smile EDM«

An exciting development in the field of measuring solutions, ZOLLER’s »smile EDM« not only measures cutting tools but also electrodes. All important parameters (offset angles, eccentricity, length, etc.) of the electrode can be measured as well as metal cutting tools such as drills, milling cutters and reamers.

ZOLLER software »CAZ«

As a virtual measuring machine, the ZOLLER software »CAZ« (computer-aided-ZOLLER) enables the setup of measuring sequences based on the 3D drawing of a tool. A tool’s measuring points, nominal values, cutting shapes and measuring programs can already be defined during the CAD design stage of the tool.
