Material handling equipment manufacturer, Wildeck, Inc. (Waukesha, WI), announced plans to display a 10 ft. tall replica of Les Paul’s pioneering design of the solid-body electric guitar directly on Les Paul Parkway, immediately in front of the company’s 100,000 sq ft manufacturing facility.

“We are elated to participate in this community effort to honor the inventor of the solid-body electric guitar,” stated Wildeck president, Keith G. Pignolet. The 10 ft tall guitar, decorated by renowned artists, Willis, Jim, and Ryan Guthrie, will be elevated above street level for maximum visibility on Les Paul Parkway. The guitar is a replica honoring Les Paul’s original electric guitar prototype design, affectionately called, ‘The Log’.

According to marketing director, Hubert A. Schlegel, “Wildeck’s selection of Les Paul’s prototype guitar design is consistent with the company’s emphasis on innovation and new product development. It also represents our market focus as a U.S. manufacturer whose products are ‘crafted with confidence’ by an outstanding team of employee owners right here in Waukesha, Wisconsin, the birthplace of Les Paul.”

Artists and sponsors of the 2013 Waukesha GuitarTown project were honored at a Gala reception in the Waukesha Rotunda on June 6. Les Paul’s “The Log” prototype guitar was on display at the event and will be moved to Wildeck’s location on Les Paul Parkway within the next few weeks, once the foundation and platform work are complete.
