Productivity at the Highest Level with new Replaceable Head Drill
With the Drion·tec® E-Peak D5150, Walter is introducing a new replaceable head drill that, in line with its claim “The Peak of Productivity,” delivers maximum efficiency when drilling from solid. The Walter D5150 drill enables extremely high feed rates and metal removal rates, significantly reducing cost per hole. Pilot drilling is no longer required, and the replaceable DS50 head can be changed directly in the machine without screws, reducing both machining and setup time.
The drill body features reinforced radial contact points and inclined axial contact surfaces to absorb cutting forces. Its three-dimensional flute geometry with a large helix angle, combined with high-performance internal coolant, ensures reliable chip evacuation even on inclined or curved surfaces.
In addition to high productivity, the Walter replaceable head drill offers excellent process reliability. This is achieved through its patented cutting point design with axial pull-out protection, which ensures safe retraction and maintains release torque even after multiple head changes. Low-vibration DS50 heads provide excellent centering and hole quality thanks to precision grinding and point geometry.
With its universal M geometry and two cutting material grades (WPP35 and WMS35), the D5150 can be used across ISO material groups P, M and S, as well as K, N and H. Setup is simple with plug-and-play parameters. Walter is launching the D5150 in diameters from Ø 9 to 17.99 mm, including inch sizes, and drilling depths of 3×D, 5×D and 8×D. Multiple head dimensions can be used with the same drill body, reducing inventory and purchasing costs.
