Toyoda Machinery (Arlington Heights, IL) has expanded its industry-leading service organization. The service team is made up of highly specialized professionals with different areas of expertise, including mechanical, electrical, programming, engineering and automation. One service team member recently spent three months learning the hand scraping technique. The practice is very labor-intensive, and requires areas to be hand-scraped and fit together to ensure precise geometric alignment of the machine tool. The process allows for true tolerances and long machine tool life.
Many manufacturers that work with heavy materials prefer the rigidity of a boxway machine. For this reason, Toyoda offers boxway designs in both its vertical and horizontal machining lines. ?We have a few thousand machines in the field with a boxway construction.
