TAB Industries Opens In-House Machine Shop

This expands their metalworking capabilities and adds two staff positions and two full-time machinists.
The new 2,000 sq ft shop features MIG/TIG welder machines, a Bridgeport VMC, CNC lathe/turning center, Edwards 55 ton ironworker with punching, shearing and forming, and a variety of tools and accessories. The shop will help them keep pace with demand for their orbital stretch wrappers and allow faster custom machine building, prototyping, and product research and development.

TAB Industries, LLC (Reading, PA), a manufacturer of orbital stretch wrappers, recently celebrated the grand opening of their in-house machine shop. Encompassing 2,000 sq ft in their Reading headquarters, this shop features MIG/TIG welder machines, a Bridgeport vertical machining center, CNC lathe/turning center, Edwards 55 ton ironworker with punching, shearing and forming, and a variety of tools and accessories. The shop will add speed and efficiency in manufacturing to help them keep pace with intense demand for their line of orbital stretch wrappers, while also allowing for faster custom machine building, prototyping, and product research and development.

This shop expands their metalworking capabilities beyond their fabrication shop, triggering the creation of two staff positions and the hiring of two full-time machinists with several years of experience using the automated equipment. This new production capacity is expected to meet brisk sales projections for the TAB Wrapper Tornado line according to Andy Brizek, their vice president of sales and marketing.
