SureWex Acquires Welding Business and PPE Brands from KCP

Along with Jackson Safety and Wilson, this includes welding helmets, accessories, PAPRs, barriers, and face-head-hearing protection.

SureWerx (Vancouver, BC), a leading supplier of professional tools, equipment, and safety products, acquired the Jackson Safety® and Wilson® Safety brands from Kimberly-Clark Professional (Mississauga, ON). This acquisition includes the Industrial Welding business, along with select portions of the Industrial Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) businesses that comprise welding helmets, welding accessories, welding powered air purifying respirators (PAPR,) welding barriers, industrial respiratory, face protection, head protection, and hearing protection categories.

“We are very excited to welcome Jackson Safety and Wilson to our growing portfolio of world-class brands,” stated Bill Jeffery, the senior vice president of corporate and brand development. “We know that our customers appreciate the rich history behind both of these brands, along with the high standards of quality and safety that they represent. We are delighted to take another step forward in our goal to become a global leader in worker safety and productivity.” The sale is part of Kimberly-Clark Professional’s ongoing effort to streamline their global safety and scientific businesses and accelerate growth across their personal protection equipment (PPE) categories, including apparel, gloves and eyewear, and is consistent with the goals of their Global Restructuring Program announced in January 2018.

“Divesting the welding and select non-core categories will allow us to focus on our primary PPE categories – apparel, gloves, and eyewear,” stated Aaron Powell, the global president for Kimberly-Clark Professional. “By bringing these three categories together under our just relaunched KleenGuard brand, we can focus on delivering systems for workers in the advanced manufacturing segment and drive even greater scale across our growing personal protection equipment business.”
