Southern Aluminum Finishing Joins PPG Americas Powder CAP Program
Southern Aluminum Finishing Co., Inc. (SAF, Atlanta, GA) announced its enrollment in the PPG Duranar Certified Applicator Program (CAP) as an Americas Powder CAP member. The PPG CAP program certifies member applicators to apply high-performance Duranar powder coatings for commercial construction.
Penn McClatchey, SAF Vice President, said membership in the Americas Powder CAP Program dramatically expands the company?s customer benefits and customer support capabilities. ?We are looking forward to expanding our throughput with PPG?s powder, while decreasing the amount of air pollution we create. To become part of the America?s Powder CAP Program, SAF underwent a rigorous auditing process that encompassed all aspects of the coating process, from cleaning and pretreating the metal substrate to actually applying the coating. The audit also contains a continuous training and education component and specifies paint application parameters and cure schedules, as well as how finished products should be handled, packed and shipped.
