Sandvik Coromant Appoints New Executives

Israelsson’s new role supports the company’s new strategic business direction, to become a more global organization.

Sandvik Coromant (Fair Lawn, NJ), a leading producer of tools for the metal cutting industry, appointed John Israelsson to the position of president of the new business area, Market Area Americas. Jamie Price, the former vice president of sales, succeeded Israelsson as the president of Sandvik Coromant USA.

Israelsson’s new role supports the company’s new strategic business direction, to become a more global organization. As president of Market Area Americas, he is tasked with leveraging performance, growing sales, and increasing the gap between competition; as well as increasing synergies between the U.S., Canada, Mexico, Argentina, Brazil, Chile and Latin America.

Price joined the Market Area Americas management team effective March 1, reporting to Israelsson. In his new role as the president of Sandvik Coromant USA, Price continues to develop the company as the market leader in the U.S., assuming responsibility for the company’s operations, sales and marketing, strategic planning, development, expansion and profitability. “To be part of such a dynamic company for nearly two decades has been a great honor,” said Price. “I am looking forward to leading this company into its next generation by delivering the ultimate customer experience.”

“I am honored by this appointment and am excited to drive efficiency and increase our business success in this new regionalized business strategy,” added Israelsson. “With Jamie’s experience and extensive knowledge about the challenges and the opportunities facing the U.S. market, I know he will continue to drive the company forward.” Israelsson has been with the company since 1987, holding various positions ranging from product development and sales to executive management. He has held the position of president of Sandvik Coromant USA since 2006.

Price joined Sandvik Coromant USA in 1993 and progressed through positions of increased responsibility in sales throughout his career. Before taking on the role of vice president of sales in 2007, he was the director of national sales and has been part of the U.S. management team since 2006.
