REMOTELY, AUTOMATICALLY COLLECT, STORE AND REPORT MACHINE PRODUCTION, MAINTENANCE DATA
Okuma America developed MacMan-Net, an application for remotely and automatically collecting, storing and reporting machine production and maintenance data. This data is used to increase efficiency, diagnose problems and report the information. The data is gathered and stored and can easily be accessed on screen or reported via network server through email, including remotely through a PDA.
Full-color graphic reports allow the user to quickly and easily interpret data and make real-time adjustments to improve performance. Connect up to 99 machines and quickly and easily receive operation, OEE, machining and efficiency reports. In addition to MacMan-Net, the THINC Control has allowed Okuma to work with over 30 companies to develop their products to improve the production efficiencies of our mutual customers.
Member companies of Partners in THINC use the THINC Control to integrate their products with Okuma machine tool technology to test new ideas and develop real-world manufacturing solutions. Partners provide solutions in robotics and automation, tool management, lubricants/coolants, workholding, gauging and many other categories. Each Okuma machine tool comes equipped with an open-architecture Microsoft Windows-based THINC® Control. THe Intelligent Numerical Control (THINC) was developed specifically to allow seamless integration of the product with seemingly endless applications and third-party software. This integration allows better data capture and analysis with a variety of functions and accessories, improving the functionality of the machine. The THINC control incorporates a robust and user friendly set of Application Programming Interfaces (API), allowing a more productive environment and higher machine tool profitability. “It is a perpetually expanding, evolving, and fully customizable fluid platform that allows the control hardware and software platform to grow inexpensively as new technology is introduced even after installation on the factory floor,” explains Bob Tain, Senior Director of Controls at Okuma America Corporation.
