From a safety point of view, no industry is more concerned with the performance of its parts being produced than the aerospace supply chain, where parts suppliers use the most advanced quality assurance technology to verify part conformance to specifications.

The trigger pulse on the TS 740 3D machine tool probe from Heidenhain is obtained through electronically processing forces that act during probing. The deflection of the stylus is measured by several pressure sensors arranged between the contact plate and the probe housing. The stylus is deflected when probing a part so that a force acts on the sensors, which process the signals being generated to produce the trigger pulse. The relatively low probing forces provide high probe accuracy and repeatability, and precise trigger characteristics in all directions for extremely consistent probe accuracy over 360 deg.
