Pratt Miller and BLM GROUP Forge Strategic Technical Partnership
Pratt Miller and BLM GROUP have announced a new technical partnership that will strengthen Pratt Miller’s in-house sheet-metal processing capabilities for its Motorsports programs and its Defense and Mobility business units. Under the agreement, Pratt Miller will integrate advanced BLM GROUP equipment, including an LS7 4020 sheet laser and two all-electric ProBend press brakes (205-60 and 420-280), into its manufacturing operations.
Driving Precision and Efficiency

The collaboration will enhance precision, throughput, efficiency, and flexibility in fabricating complex sheet-metal parts for high-performance and mission-critical applications. By leveraging BLM GROUP’s advanced laser and bending technologies, Pratt Miller aims to shorten lead times, reduce material waste, and improve part quality—supporting faster development cycles in motorsports and across its broader engineering programs.
Key Equipment Highlights:
- LS7 4020 sheet laser: High-speed, high-precision cutting for large-format sheet stock.
- ProBend 205-60 press brake: Compact, direct-drive system with exceptional dynamic performance for tight-tolerance bends.
- ProBend 420-280 press brake: Large-capacity, direct-drive model ideal for heavy-gauge materials and oversized parts.
Together, these systems expand Pratt Miller’s in-house fabrication capacity, ensuring faster responses to design iterations, material challenges, and supply-chain disruptions.
Leadership Perspectives

“Precision, speed, and adaptability are critical in motorsports, and equally so in advanced engineering programs beyond racing,” said Brandon Widmer, Vice President of Pratt Miller Motorsports. “By partnering with BLM GROUP, we are equipping ourselves with world-class machinery that enhances our ability to prototype, iterate, and deliver high-quality components faster than ever.”
“BLM GROUP is proud to support Pratt Miller’s ambitious growth in motorsports and high-performance engineering,” added Gunar Gossard, Vice President of Sales, BLM GROUP USA. “Our LS7 laser and ProBend press brake solutions combine automation, accuracy, and throughput that modern fabricators demand.”
Implementation Timeline
Pratt Miller plans to commission the LS7 laser and both ProBend press brakes during Q4 2025 to early 2026. Initially, the equipment will support the company’s motorsports programs before expanding into broader engineering and manufacturing applications.
BLM GROUP will provide full on-site commissioning, operator training, and maintenance support to ensure optimal integration and performance.
