Portable, Digital Induction Bearing Heaters
Proper bearing installation is essential to maximum bearing life. By heating prior to installation, the bearing expands and slides easily onto the shaft. Magnetic induction heats bearings evenly and quicker than hot plates, and is a safe and efficient method of generating heat to expand bearings for installation, with no open flame or hot oil to worry about. In Booth B-25089, induction bearing heaters from BESSEY® Tools North America (Cambridge, ON) are portable, digitally controlled and CE-certified. Their new PV2412, PVH3813 and SVH5223 digital units are light enough to take onto the jobsite for everyday use. Extend bearing life and cut operating costs by eliminating hammering and pounding to cold mount bearings. All of these new digital units feature a straight-forward set of controls that can be used to set the temperature and the time, and will automatically demagnetize the bearings during the process. The PV2412 comes in a hard-sided carrying case (with strap and handle) and is light enough (47 lb) to transport whenever and wherever it is needed on a jobsite. Bearings up to 44 lb can be heated using this unit.
The PVH3813 and SVH5223 units are unique in that they can heat bearings up to 330 lb vertically or, even more rapidly, heat the bearings by mounting horizontally on the digital induction heating unit. The horizontal position heating time is 3X to 4X faster: a 100 lb unit heats in under 7 minutes vs. 25+ minutes in the vertical position. A set of cross bars, heat resistant gloves and a detailed user’s guide comes with each unit. All units are 120V / 15A, 50/60 Hz. All PV, PVH and SVH models feature digital time/temperature display controls, as well as a magnetic probe. All of these induction bearing heaters help extend the useful life of bearings. Reducing the frequency of bearing maintenance means lower operating costs.
