New Series of Signaling Devices Includes Sounders and Sounder Lights

Pfannenberg, Inc., a global leader in thermal management and signaling technologies, announces the North American launch of its PROTECT Series. The series delivers robust signaling solutions designed for the most demanding industrial and outdoor environments.
Featuring a virtually unbreakable die-cast aluminum housing, PROTECT devices withstand harsh conditions across industries such as fire alarm, marine, machine safety, functional safety, and hazardous areas. The series includes sounders and combined sounder-light devices with six lens colors, offering Xenon or LED visual signaling.
Certified to meet rigorous industrial standards, PROTECT devices provide 80 selectable tones, four externally selectable additional tones, and a pre- and main alarm function to prevent shock reactions. Dip switch settings allow seven adjustments from 86–116 dB. High sound penetration and perceptibility reduce the number of devices needed, while multi-voltage compatibility and easy installation minimize downtime and inventory requirements.
“The PROTECT Series will be a revolutionary product for Pfannenberg in the United States. It offers unique features that cover a wide range of applications, and certifications like SIL2, MED, and UL Class 1 Division 2 make it an easy choice,” says Jacob Vernon, Product Manager, Audible and Visual Signaling.
Key models include:
-
PRO 10 Sounder – This versatile, high-performance sounder features a pre- and main alarm function, MED/MER marine certification, SIL 2/PL d functional safety, and explosion-proof certifications (ATEX Zone 2/22 & UL Class 1 Division 2). With up to 116 dB(A) sound pressure and IK09 impact resistance, it ensures reliable signaling even in hazardous and noisy environments.
-
PRO X 10-05 Combined Sounder-Light – Equipped with a high-performance Xenon flash (5 Joules, 56 cd) and 116 dB(A) sound pressure, the PRO X 10-05 delivers alarms that are both seen and heard. Its die-cast aluminum housing with IP66/IP67 and NEMA 4/4X protection guarantees resistance to dust, water, and mechanical impacts. Visual signaling reaches up to 568 feet, reducing the number of devices needed and saving installation time and cost.
