First-of-its-Kind Configuration Tool for Tube Bending Opens Up Untold Possibilities
OSH Cut, a leading online metal manufacturer, announced the launch of OSH Cut CNC Tube Bending, enabling customers to receive instant manufacturability feedback, pricing and production with no minimum order requirement.
In line with its tech-driven approach, the company also released a first-of-its-kind configuration tool that allows users to design bent-tube parts from scratch if they do not already have a 3D CAD model. These part files can be queued for production immediately or downloaded as .STEP files for future use.
CNC Tube Bending was one of the company’s most requested services in 2025, based on customer survey data. Common applications for custom cut and bent tubing include automotive frameworks, furniture, robotics, railings and conduit systems.
From its inception, OSH Cut has focused on making high-mix metal fabrication accessible to anyone with a web browser. By leveraging advanced equipment and automating processes such as first-principles design inspection, nesting, production workflows and inventory management, the company consistently processes and delivers thousands of unique SKUs each week.
“Up until we started this eight years ago, sourcing one-off metal parts was a huge challenge for most folks,” explained Caleb Chamberlain, CEO at OSH Cut. “Waiting a week or more to get a quote, and then 3 to 4 more weeks to actually get your parts (if you were lucky enough to find a shop that accepts small orders) just wasn’t tenable.”
“The majority of today’s work force doesn’t remember a time when Amazon.com didn’t exist. As consumers we crave convenience, speed, clarity, and assurance. Engineers and DIYers are no different, and we’re really proud to help them innovate faster and more reliably than ever before with on-demand tube and sheet metal parts.”
OSH Cut CNC Tube Bending services initially support steel grades A513, 4130 and DOM 1020, stainless steel 304 and aluminum, with diameters up to 1.5 inches and wall thicknesses up to 0.120 inches, depending on material. Additional equipment and tooling to bend tubing up to 3 inches in diameter is expected to be added this year. For straight tube cutting, the company can process parts up to 10 inches in outer diameter.
