Oberg Breaks Ground for Expansion

More than 80,000 sq ft of floor space is being added to increase manufacturing operations and new product development.
Oberg's Board of directors and executive management team make the first symbolic cut of earth at the construction site in Sarver, PA.

With a symbolic first shovel of earth, board members and the executive management team of Oberg Industries (Sarver, PA) marked the official start of construction for a new multi-function manufacturing facility on their Sarver campus.

Oberg is a full-service contract manufacturer of precision metal components, tooling and stamping assemblies for over 67 years. During the past several years, the company has been growing and adding new customers, employees, and equipment to provide more services to support their diverse customer base.

“This expansion project represents a measure of confidence in our talented employees, the continued success of our customer partners, and growth of our business and to this region in continuing to lead advanced manufacturing on a global scale,” said Eric Oberg, the chairman of the board for the company.

Contractor W.K. Thomas (Butler, PA) has been selected to erect this new building on the Sarver campus, an expansion that will give Oberg more than 80,000 sq ft of additional floor space to grow their manufacturing operations and new product development efforts.

“This new building will give us room to expand for future growth as well as do more cellular manufacturing to increase efficiency,” noted David Bonvenuto, the president and chief executive officer of Oberg. “It will also allow us to be more flexible on our manufacturing floor, handle larger projects, and be more cost competitive, in addition to adding physical space to increase our employee development training areas.”

The new facility is expected to open in the spring of 2016. The company is presently recruiting personnel for several open manufacturing positions needed to support this capacity expansion.
