Sites are evaluated on seven criteria ? design, interactivity, technology, content, innovation, copywriting and ease of use to the target audience ? and earn scores between 0 and 70 points.
The highest score in each category won a Best of Industry award. Websites that score 60 points or greater receive an Outstanding Website Award. The WebAward program also gave Standard of Excellence Awards to those who scored higher than the industry category average, but below the 60-point mark.
