New Director of Engineering Promoted at Sumitomo Machinery Corporation of America
Sumitomo Machinery Corporation of America (SMA) announces the promotion of Dr. Arthur S. Pantelides to the position of Director of Engineering to oversee the Engineering, Design, and Research and
Development (R&D) Groups. Dr. Pantelides has more than 15 years experience in the heavy industrial, automotive, as well as consumer-related gear markets, working in international manufacturing operations. He recently received a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) Degree in Engineering Management from George Washington University and also holds a Masters in Engineering Management from George Washington University and a Masters in Mechanical Engineering from Boston University.

Dr. Pantelides brings an intimate knowledge of the power transmission
industry, a keen understanding of the internal SMA organization, and a comprehensive knowledge of the engineering structure to this key leadership position. His most recent accomplishments include standardization of the R & D process on a global scale and also integration of regional facility engineers under centralized
control at headquarters in Virginia.
