NCCM Breaks Ground for New Facility

NCCM's two-story structure will have 26,000 sq ft of office and manufacturing space and will occupy a 4.77 acre site in the city's corporate park.

NCCM Company (River Falls, WI), the manufacturer of non-woven mill rolls used by primary metal processors around the globe, recently broke ground on its new headquarters. NCCM employees were joined in the celebration by local and regional government officials and Derrick Construction Company management. The two-story structure will have 26,000 sq ft of office and manufacturing space and will occupy a 4.77 acre site in the city’s corporate park.

While the new facility will only be slightly larger than the space the company currently occupies, Brent and Julie Niccum, chief technical officer and chief executive officer, respectively, say the new facility will provide operational advantages. For example, office and production space will exist side by side instead of separately and on different floors.

Higher ceiling space, windows to let in natural light and climate controls to supply better air quality for NCCM employees and its products will create a better working environment. As the sole building occupant, the company will have a more secure research and development environment, an important factor for a company that has and continues to develop innovative new mill roll technologies. The corporate park location also gives the company a more visible presence in the community; an important consideration for the Niccums, who made “Made in the USA” a core company value.

“This is truly an exciting time for us,” says Julie Niccum. “We’ve made great strides since we opened for business five years ago. This new building will help us pursue other ventures that will add to the company’s presence in the metal finishing industry.” Office space in the new facility should be ready for occupancy in early spring, 2014, and manufacturing operations will follow shortly thereafter.
