Miyachi Unitek Appoints New President
David Fawcett is the new president and chief executive officer after running the welding equipment and laser system manufacturer’s European operations for the past two years.
Miyachi Unitek Corporation (MUC; Monrovia, CA), a leading manufacturer of welding equipment and laser systems, announces that David Fawcett has been appointed as the president and chief executive officer after serving as the chief operating officer of Miyachi Europe Corporation GmbH (MEC) for the past two years.
In his new role Fawcett will be responsible for building upon the company’s 64-year history of excellence, working both to maintain continuity and to drive MUC to the next level. He and his team will deliver competitive business plans that can continue the growth and development of both MUC and the Miyachi Group organization.
Fawcett is an accomplished leader and business manager with a strong record in the Miyachi organization, working first as a manager at ACAL, a UK-based distributor formerly known as Townsend Coates, where he distributed products from MUC, MEC, and Miyachi to industry clients for six years.
In 2007, he assisted in the buyout of ACAL and joined MEC, quickly rising to become the vice president of sales. In 2010, he was promoted to chief operating officer and executive vice president. While in this role, he led MEC in expanding sales and increasing profits.
