Methods Machines Hosts Grand Opening Celebration and Open House

Methods Machine Tools Inc. (Sudbury, MA) held a Grand Opening of their new state-of-the-art Technology Center in Tempe, AZ on October 13th, and immediately following, an Open House on the 14th ? 16th which drew 650 visitors representing more than 160 companies. The Grand Opening ceremony on Monday the 13th was also well attended and included participation from state and local government dignitaries including Arizona State Senator Meg Burton Cahill and Tempe Mayor Hugh Hallman. In addition, executives of Methods? Machine Tool Partners, including Matsuura, Nakamura-Tome, Fanuc Japan, KIWA-Japan, Marubeni Citizen and Hwacheon Korea, also participated at the Grand Opening and the Open House.

The Grand Opening event featured a ribbon cutting followed by a tour of the facility, as well as advanced technology presentations featuring vertical, horizontal, and five-axis machining, multitasking CNC lathes, robotics and customized automation. Methods Executives were presented with several excellence awards from Machine Tool Partners including Matsuura, Nakamura-Tome, ATS and Citizen. In addition, to celebrate the occasion, Methods and their Machine Tool Partners, clad in costume and wielding wooden mallets, participated in a traditional Japanese sake-barrel smashing ceremony.

?The opening of the facility is an excellent example of how Arizona is a great place for growth in technology in the manufacturing market, especially the Aerospace industry that many Arizonians support," said Mr. Scott McIver, Chairman/VP of Product Development.

Following the Grand Opening Methods held an Open House from October 14-16, 2008 for customers and manufacturing professionals. The event coincided with Methods? 25th year anniversary of operating in Arizona.

?This was a very special occasion for our company, not only a celebration of the opening of a new building here in Tempe, but also the recognition of a 25 year presence in the manufacturing community here in Arizona? said Mr. Bryon Deysher, President/CEO of Methods Machine Tools. ?At the same time, Methods is also celebrating 50 years of supporting and supplying the best technology and manufacturing solutions to customers all across the United States.?

Methods has even further enhanced their customer support operations by increasing their parts department by 80 percent and adding a spindle rebuild area to the new 18,000 square foot facility. A modern 5,200 square foot showroom allows customers to see the latest metalworking technology first-hand.

  • The event included four technology seminars featuring ?Maintaining 5-Axis Efficiency?, ?Multitasking Success Stories?, ?Cutting Technologies & Techniques? and ?Swiss Made Simple?. Visitors were able to see the latest products and talk to company representatives from the following vendors: Koma, Reinshaw, Tecnara, Big Kaiser, ATS/SMW, Kennametal, Esprit, Delcam, Royal and more. Food and refreshments were served and door prizes were also awarded.
