Methods Machine Tools Launches New Automation Center

Located in Charlotte, NC, this facility will provide a full range of capabilities, from customer consultation to building cells and performing run-offs.
The new 10,000 sq ft Automation and Integration Center in Charlotte, NC, is slated to open this spring and already ramping up. Staffed by systems integration engineers, it will have a full range of equipment and capabilities, from customer consultation to building cells and performing run-offs.

To meet the aggressively growing demand for automation and robotics in manufacturing, Methods Machine Tools, Inc. (Sudbury, MA), a leading supplier of innovative precision machine tools, 3D printing technology, automation and accessories, is expanding their automation capabilities, launching a new Automation and Integration Center in their Charlotte, NC, facility. This 10,000 sq ft center, slated to open this spring and already ramping up, is staffed by systems integration engineers and will have a full range of equipment and capabilities, from customer consultation to building cells and performing run-offs.

Mike Kierce, a systems integration manager, will be managing the new Automation Center, which will expand the company’s existing automation program and provide innovative, state-of-the-art systems for users throughout the U.S. Automation is not a new concept at Methods. With existing automation centers in the their Sudbury headquarters and in Wixom, MI, they have been committed to automation for years, applying leading edge technology in a wide range of machine tool and robotic solutions from small automated centers to large, complex multi-function machining cells.

Methods Automation utilizes robotics and a full range of advanced machine tools via Productivity Partners FANUC, YASDA, Nakamura-Tome, KIWA, and FEELER. They design, integrate and build highly innovative, flexible automation solutions for users throughout North America. They have 40 automation engineers nationwide, including design engineers, control engineers, systems integration engineers and field service/ installation engineers. Their technology centers are strategically located across the U.S. in Boston, MA; Charlotte, NC; Detroit, MI; Chicago, IL; Phoenix, AZ; San Francisco, CA; and Los Angeles, CA.
