BIG DAISHOWA Speroni Pro Shrink TubeChiller 1100 for safer shrink-fit tool holding and faster tool holder cooling in machining operations
The new Speroni Pro Shrink TubeChiller 1100, a combination shrink and cooling system that automatically cools down tool holders.
Safer and Easier to use Shrink-fit Tool Holding

BIG DAISHOWA Inc. (Hoffman Estates, IL) offers the new Speroni Pro Shrink TubeChiller 1100. With the most advanced and complete shrinking technology in its class, the combination shrink and cooling system automatically cools down tool holders immediately after heating to reduce burn risk to operators.

With this standalone unit, the heat-shrinking process is easy. First, the high-frequency coil heats up the tool holder. Once the heating is done, the tool cooling process is automatic, with the body of the chiller cooling down the tool uniformly.

Other key highlights include:

  • The pyrometer constantly measures the tool holder’s temperature to avoid overheating.
  • The heating action is maintained when the ideal temperature is reached, so overheating the tool holder is impossible.
  • Start the shrinking process with one touch: Browse the menu and choose the parameters through the simple and intuitive display screen.
  • Shrinking and cooling processes are totally customizable.
  • The shrinking range is Ø 3 – 32 mm for carbide shanks and Ø 6 – 32 mm for HSS shanks.

“Speroni has been a trusted partner for BIG DAISHOWA customers for decades,” said Patrick Cratty, SPERONI sales manager. “For the first time, we’re offering our customers their standalone shrink fit technology, but with a rich history; the Pro Shrink is actually the result of more than 20 years of tool measurement and tool shrinking expertise.”

New CT System Speaks the Language of the Shop Floor
LK Metrology READY COREX 250 industrial X-ray CT system for non-destructive shop floor inspection of complex parts
The READY COREX 250 industrial X-ray CT system from LK Metrology is designed for inspection and measurement on the shop floor.

LK Metrology, Inc. (Hudson Heights, MI) has introduced the innovative COREX 250 from Ready Metrology, the holding group’s brand that develops easy-to-use X-ray CT as well as CMM solutions for shop floor applications. The new industrial computed tomography system is designed for the production environment and features a 230 mm cube working volume. It brings non-contact inspection and metrology into the factory to enable non-destructive internal inspection of complex parts in seconds.

Unlike traditional industrial CT systems, which are often prohibitively expensive, bulky and designed as all-purpose laboratory tools, the COREX 250 is purpose-built for the production line. While standard systems require complex setups to handle any possible part, COREX 250 focuses on specific production needs. Instead of one oversized machine, the COREX series is available in three sizes. This specialization allows for pre-defined configurations and enhanced X-ray sources tailored to a shop’s specific materials.

Designed for speed of operation, it can inspect carbon fiber components in 20 seconds-to-30 seconds. For denser materials such as aluminum, magnesium and titanium, inspection times remain exceptionally fast at 40 seconds-to-50 seconds.

A key innovation of the COREX 250 is its on-board integrated software. Shop floor operators do not need to be metrologists; they simply press a button to receive accurate, easy-to-interpret results through a simplified software interface.
