Lyndex-Nikken, manufacturer and provider of high-performance machine tool accessories and machine tending solutions, proudly announces the expansion of its sales team. This strategic growth reinforces the company’s commitment to serving the evolving needs of the manufacturing industry by providing localized expertise, support, and world-class tooling solutions.

Lyndex-Nikken is pleased to welcome five seasoned sales professionals: Travis Lucot (Pennsylvania and New York), Bill Hafley (Indiana), Kip Smith (Southern California), Michael Kucera (Illinois), and Raul Oquendo (Texas and Louisiana).

As the Regional Sales Representative for Pennsylvania and New York, Travis Lucot brings over 21 years of hands-on manufacturing experience to Lyndex-Nikken. Travis began his career as a Journeyman Machinist, mastering manual and CNC equipment before transitioning into roles as an inspector and lead Application Engineer. Throughout his career, Travis has demonstrated a remarkable ability to identify and eliminate production inefficiencies. As an Application Engineer, he facilitated a high-profile automated cell project where he utilized Lyndex-Nikken SK series holders to help a customer reduce cycle times from two hours per part down to just 45 minutes. His technical repertoire includes extensive work with Zero Point clamping, quick-change tool holders (Capto), and advanced automation involving gantry loaders and robotic arms. Travis possesses deep vertical market expertise in the Aerospace, Medical, Oil & Gas, and Tool & Die sectors. He is highly proficient in machining challenging materials such as Inconel, Hastelloy, and titanium for critical components like turbine blisks, orthopedic implants, and frac pumps. “By leveraging my two decades of experience on the shop floor and in business development, I am confident I can help Lyndex-Nikken customers achieve faster results by reducing setup times and optimizing part processing,” says Lucot.

Bill Hafley is the Regional Sales Representative for Indiana, bringing over 30 years of metal-cutting experience. As a former machinist, Bill’s career spans machining on the shop floor, CNC machine sales, and perishable tooling distribution. Bill’s approach is rooted in a “never stop learning” philosophy and a commitment to building long-term partnerships. Having worked as a machinist himself, he serves as a technical consultant for his customers, leveraging his ability to write CNC programs and his experience in CMM programming to solve complex manufacturing hurdles. From automotive to top-secret military projects, Bill’s global perspective on metal-cutting allows him to recommend strategic tooling that prioritizes both quality and efficiency. “I’ve been in the customer’s position before, and I strive to be the technical resource they can rely on to get through any situation,” states Hafley. Bill has an associate’s degree in Machine Tool Technology from Ivy Tech.

Returning to Lyndex-Nikken as the West Coast Regional Sales Representative, Kip Smith has over a decade of dedicated manufacturing experience and a deep-rooted history with Lyndex-Nikken. Kip originally began his career with the company in 2014, and his return marks a strategic move to bolster support for customers across Southern California and the broader Western region. Kip’s expertise is built on an extensive background in tool holders and advanced manufacturing technologies, having worked across a diverse range of machine tool brands. He has tackled complex manufacturing challenges, consistently delivering tailored, solution-driven results that optimize shop floor performance. By combining his technical knowledge of high-performance tooling with a partnership-first mindset, Kip serves as a trusted advisor committed to his customers’ long-term operational success. “Returning to my roots at Lyndex-Nikken allows me to bring high-level tooling solutions back to the region where I started,” says Smith. “I take great pride in building strong, transparent partnerships that help our customers navigate their toughest production hurdles.”

Joining the team as the Regional Sales Representative for the Northern and Western Illinois territory, Michael Kucera brings a powerhouse of technical sales expertise and strategic insight to Lyndex-Nikken. With over 30 years of manufacturing sales experience, Michael combines high-level financial literacy with a deep-rooted understanding of the shop floor. His mission is to help customers increase profitability and gain a significant competitive edge in the market. Michael specializes in precision workholding for mills and lathes, including quick-change systems and complex, custom workholding projects. His technical proficiency extends to metal finishing and advanced clamping solutions, with specific expertise in collet chucks, 3-jaw chucks, and specialized ID and OD chucking. Michael’s ability to diagnose and solve critical production hurdles is best illustrated by a recent success where a customer was losing $20,000 per month due to high scrap rates. By identifying and resolving severe runout issues, Michael implemented a solution that reduced the scrap rate to near zero. “My primary focus is to act as a partner in my customers’ growth,” says Kucera. Michael has a bachelor’s degree in economics from the University of Illinois, Chicago.

As the Regional Sales Representative for the Houston, Texas, and Southern Louisiana territory, Raul Oquendo brings 25 years of deep-rooted machining and manufacturing expertise to the Lyndex-Nikken team. Raul’s career is defined by his extensive experience in the Oil & Gas industry, where he has spent over two decades mastering both lathe and mill operations for critical energy components. With a strong background in carbide cutting tools and perishable tooling sales, Raul possesses a unique ability to bridge the gap between technical shop floor requirements and high-level production strategy. He specializes in optimizing tool life and metal-removal rates, ensuring his customers in the Gulf Coast region maintain a competitive edge in high-pressure manufacturing environments. Raul is a graduate of Texas State Technical College, where he earned a Certification in Precision Machining Technologies and an Associate of Applied Science (AAS) degree. “My mission is to leverage my 25 years of hands-on experience to provide the Houston and Louisiana markets with the technical support and high-performance solutions they need to overcome their most demanding machining challenges,” says Oquendo.

“The best advice on optimal machine tool accessory solutions come from people with experience,” says Russ Reinhart, National Sales Manager. “With the addition of these five experts, Lyndex-Nikken further reinforces its commitment to providing unmatched technical support in Pennsylvania, New York, Indiana, California, Illinois, Texas, and Louisiana.”
