L&S Machine Company, LLC (Latrobe, PA) announced that it received ISO 9001:2008 and AS9100C accreditation for the manufacture and fabrication of build‐to‐print metal and phenolic parts. These quality certifications apply to their diverse manufacturing operations, which include precision machining, welding, waterjet cutting and EDM, as well as prototyping and inspection services. The shop operates an extensive lineup of Haas machining and turning centers with an average age of just three years. As specialists in parts with complex geometries, they offer both 5-axis machining and waterjet cutting.

According to Rob DiNardi, the company president, the ISO 9001 and AS9100 certifications represent an evolution of their existing quality management system. “We’ve long served the nuclear power industry, which has the most stringent quality requirements. ISO 9001 and AS9100 are simply a natural outgrowth of a comprehensive quality system that we’ve had in place for years,” he stated. The company’s long experience in serving the nuclear industry has honed their ability to machine parts to the most demanding quality and tolerance specifications. In addition to nuclear power components, they also serve customers who require high precision parts for aerospace, defense, semiconductor, photonics, medical and other industrial applications.
