Linear Way VMC for Precision Machining

The VM3224 linear way vertical machining center from Milltronics is equipped with an 8200 CNC Control and comes factory-ready for 1,000 psi through spindle coolant and 4th axis interface.

The VM3224 linear way vertical machining center is equipped with an 8200 CNC Control and comes factory-ready for 1,000 psi through spindle coolant and 4th axis interface.

The VM3224 from Milltronics CNC Machines (Waconia, MN) joins the company’s newest line-up of linear way vertical machining centers. With a 38 in x 24 in table, the VM3224 has travels of 32 in x 24 in x 26 in. The enclosure is designed with removable side doors for accessibility through full saddle travel to accommodate long parts.

The VM3224 is equipped standard with an 8200 CNC Control, linear roller ways, dual arm 24 pocket tool changer, 6-spigot flood coolant, 180 gal coolant capacity, and chip auger. Coolant and chip control are enhanced by enclosure design featuring a single, integrated auger. Comes factory-ready for 1,000 psi through spindle coolant and 4th axis interface.

Machining accuracy is increased with 38 mm ball screws that are stretched and anchored with triplex bearings on each end. This allows the axis to run faster and smoother while minimizing thermal expansion. Cutting performance and material removal are enhanced by the casting designed to optimize rigidity and by the standard 24/15 hp BIG Plus® in-line or belted 10,000 rpm spindle. Cutting feedrate of 500 ipm (12.5 mpm) and rapid feedrate of 1,600 ipm (40 mpm).

Environmentally-friendly automatic grease lubrication eliminates need to capture oil that can contaminate parts and coolant. Machine options include 15,000 rpm spindle, enclosure washdown, mist collection system, probes and tool setters.
