Punch Presses

Straight-side or C-frame hydraulic, mechanical, servo and pneumatic presses that produce parts by forming, drawing, trimming, blanking or piercing metal in sheet or coil form between the upper and lower halves of a die that creates the shape and size of the part in production quantities. Each press uses either a single- or double-slide (ram) connection depending on the part accuracy required. Straight-side presses have two sides and four to eight guideways for the slide to reduce deflection and handle off-center loads better. Most C-frame presses are manually operated and guide the slide using two V-guides or box guides. The open form of a C-frame press is subject to higher deflection under off-center loads.
