This category includes devices that are used to remove contaminants from a medium passing through or used by a machine in the fabricating process. Many CNC machines require coolant, which in turn requires proper filtration systems to prevent pump or nozzle damage, along with accelerated wear. Oil filters capture contaminants in engine oil, hydraulic oil, transmission systems, and lubricating oils. Air filters utilize porous materials to capture solid contaminants from the air, and are used in both internal combustion engines and air compressors.
