Reinventing the Cut Through AI and Automation
Intelligent, connected sawing systems are transforming traditional sawing workflows by optimizing performance and delivering quality output, as well as providing a glimpse as to the future of sawing solutions and technologies.
A Smarter, Safer, and More Productive Structural Saw

DoALL Sawing Products (Savage, MN), a leading manufacturer of industrial sawing solutions, has released the DoALL Tilt Frame TF-2028M, the next-generation of tilt-frame band saws, designed to deliver higher productivity, longer blade life, and improved operator safety for structural cutting applications.
Engineered for performance and ease of operation, the TF-2028M combines robust mechanical design with intelligent automation features, giving fabricators the flexibility to run the machine in traditional manual operation or leverage advanced AI-assisted cutting modes.
The TF-2028M’s control system is a PLC touchscreen workstation, enabling operators to easily switch between manual operation and AI-driven cutting modes. The touchscreen continuously monitors and displays key operating parameters including band speed, head feed rate and head position. In addition, built-in machine diagnostics display errors directly on the screen.
A standout feature of the TF-2028M is its AI Smart Mode, which automatically configures feed rates based on preset cutting patterns and known material shapes. Operators can choose from three production settings.
Operators can also fine-tune cutting rates by ±10% while the machine is running, ensuring optimal performance across varying materials and production demands.
Additionally, the TF-2028M features a precision-engineered saw head mounted on linear rails integrated into the machine’s heavy-duty frame. The head is designed at a 7° cant, allowing structural materials to enter and exit the cut smoothly while reducing stress on the blade and extending band life.
To improve setup speed, the TF-2028M is equipped with a laser line material guide, allowing operators to quickly and accurately position material before making a cut.
The machine also includes a programmed blade change mode that locks out the band drive during blade replacement, allowing a single operator to safely change the blade from floor level.
Connected Tube Sawing System Cuts Downtime

The TS72 high speed cold saw from BLM GROUP USA (Novi, MI) delivers precise, repeatable cutting for tubes, bars and profiles while supporting fully unattended operation. The automatic axis control enables seamless changeovers between jobs, eliminating downtime and making the system well suited for manufacturers running small batches or high volume. The ability to automatically set cutting parameters, blade selection, material type and tube dimensions ensure consistent quality and measurable efficiency gains.
The TS72 processes tubes up to 102 mm (4”) in outer diameter and part lengths up to 4,500 mm (177”). Round, rectangular, flat-oval and special profiles can be loaded easily without specialized handling equipment. From a single bar, the system can cut up to four different part lengths in one cycle, optimizing part nesting and unloading each to a dedicated discharge position. The user-friendly touchscreen interface guides operators through setup, which reduces training time and simplifies daily operation. Optimized blade advancement profiles are stored in the CNC and are automatically selected based on material type and blade.
Integrated post-cut processes help streamline production while improving part quality. Brush deburring removes sharp edges, while an air jet clears residual material from inside each tube. An optional in-line measurement system supports full-production measurement and certification. Automated washing, drying, and conveyor-based handling simplify downstream operations and speed up part packing.
ProTube Express supports efficient production planning across multiple BLM GROUP cold saws by serving as a centralized planning and scheduling environment. It allows users to create machine-specific batches, define required quantities, transmit production data, and monitor progress across the shop floor.
High-precision Power and Cutting for High-demand Shops

Cosen Saws North America’s (Charlotte, NC) AV-2228NC is a fully automatic vertical tilt-frame band saw engineered for high-precision, high-efficiency metal cutting in demanding fabrication environments. With a generous cutting capacity of approximately 22″-x-28″, this machine is designed to handle a wide range of material sizes and profiles while maintaining exceptional accuracy and repeatability.
At the core of the AV-2228NC is its vertical tilt-frame design, which allows for miter cutting from 0°-to-60° in both directions, as well as a cant adjustment up to 5°. This flexibility enables operators to perform complex angled cuts without repositioning the material, significantly improving workflow efficiency.
This saw is built with advanced mechatronic components, including a servo-driven saw frame and shuttle system, both supported by ball screws and dual linear guides. This design ensures smooth motion, evenly distributed cutting force, and reduced vibration — resulting in longer blade life and superior surface finishes.
For automation and ease of use, the AV-2228 features a touchscreen HMI that allows operators to program cuts, angles, and indexing with precision. The hydraulic tilt-frame head, combined with full-stroke hydraulic vises, delivers strong, stable clamping for consistent results across production runs.
Built on a heavy-duty frame, the saw is designed to withstand rigorous industrial use while maintaining accuracy over time. Ideal for structural steel, fabrication shops, and high-volume production environments, it offers a powerful combination of versatility, automation, and cutting performance.
Automatic Circular Cold Saw for High-volume Production

KAAST Machine Tools, Inc. (Aldan, PA) has announced its HCS NC Automatic Circular Cold Saw series, engineered to increase throughput and consistency in high-volume metal cutting applications. Designed for unattended operation, the HCS NC meets the industry demand for lower cost per-cut through advanced automation and vibration-dampening technology.
The HCS 75 NC delivers a production rate of up to 500 cuts per hour for 2.75” material. A high-speed servo-driven feed system ensures rapid positioning. For continuous operation, an integrated bar loader magazine can hold up to 13 pieces of 2.75”-x-20’ stock.
Precision is managed by a 7” touchscreen NC control with automatic material indexing and diameter detection, which reduces cycle times. The combination of an electromagnetic brake and gear-driven transmission minimizes noise and vibration.
This rigid construction extends blade life by 30% and delivers a burr-free finish.
The saw uses a 0.079” thin-kerf blade to reduce material waste and operating costs. By directing heat into the chips rather than the workpiece, the system can reduce or eliminate secondary operations.
New Automatic Cold Saw Features Integrated Direct‑to‑Metal Printing

Scotchman Industries, Inc. (Philip, SD) has introduced the CPO‑350 Automatic Cold Saw, an advanced precision‑cutting system engineered to enhance accuracy, efficiency, and workflow integration across metal fabrication environments.
The CPO‑350 delivers fully automatic operation for cutting steel, stainless steel, and non‑ferrous materials. Its automated material feed system improves repeatability and throughput while minimizing operator involvement.
A standout feature of the CPO‑350 is its ability to print directly onto metal tubing and profiles. Through BIM software and automation integration, the system can mark UPC codes, bend locations, and hanger positions on materials such as Unistrut.
This capability streamlines downstream processes, boosts traceability, and reduces installation errors.
“By combining automated cold cutting with direct‑to‑metal printing, we’re giving customers a smarter way to streamline production and reduce costly rework,” said Mike Albrecht of Scotchman Industries.

Automatic CPO‑350 Cold Saw features include:
