Instant and Automatic Digital Dimensional Measurement of Large, Bulky Complex Parts
In Booth E-135602, RAM Optical Instrumentation (Rochester, NY), a QVI® (Quality Vision International) brand, offers their SNAP 350 large-area automatic digital dimensional measuring system to the quality assurance marketplace. The floor model SNAP 350 offers up to a 100 mm field of view and measures complex parts instantly and automatically without programming. Its expansive 350 mm x 350 mm motorized XY stage allows measurement of large parts with critical details or numerous small parts. The Z-axis travel capability and long working distance allow ample room for large, bulky parts and fixtures. SNAP 350 can automatically find and measure parts that are within its measuring range, with or without a pre-programmed routine. AutoID and FeatureExtractor™ allow SNAP to accurately identify, orient and measure any part in its field of view. The operator only needs to choose the appropriate mode for the measurement task: Run for pre-programmed routines, Measure to automatically measure any part without a routine, and Program to set up a new part routine. Then, to measure, the operator just places the part on the stage and clicks Go.
Fully telecentric optics ensure accurate part imaging and measurements, even in extreme shop-floor environments. Zoom Anywhere™ technology lets you zoom in to measure details anywhere in the viewing area. Illumination includes a green LED substage profile light, a programmable 8-sector green LED ring light, and optional green LED coaxial surface light, making it easy to image and measure even the finest details. High-value options include a precision 150 mm motorized Z-axis stage with video autofocus, telecentric dual magnification optics, a large field megapixel metrology camera, and multisensor touch probe and off-axis DRS™ laser for high accuracy Z axis measurements.
Also on display will be the SprintMVP™ 624 large-area dimensional measuring system, a fully automatic 3-axis dimensional measurement system that is designed to handle large and/or heavy parts and fixtures. It offers a generous XYZ measurement volume of 624 mm x 624 mm x 200 mm with an optionally available 300 mm Z-axis. The SprintMVP 624 design allows all measurement sensors to be moved out of the way to facilitate part loading and unloading. It features a moving bridge design where the measuring sensors are moved in the X, Y and Z axes above the part being measured, while the part itself remains stationary on the stage below the sensors. Video measurement is provided by a 6.5:1 motorized zoom lens combined with a high resolution digital megapixel metrology camera for sharp imaging and accurate measurements. The programmable VectorLight™ LED ring light, with 6 rings and 7 sectors, teams with an LED backlight and LED square-on surface light to provide illumination from all directions and incidence angles, further enhancing the system’s imaging ability.
Measurement versatility may be enhanced with multisensor options, including touch trigger probe and off-axis DRS™ laser. Measure-X® metrology software is standard on SprintMVP 624 and makes it easy to accurately measure fine features that require multi-step measurement routines, automatically combining autofocus, edge detection, programmable lighting, laser scanning and touch probing. Optional productivity software includes MeasureFit® 2D fitting software, SmartReport® custom report generation software, and SmartFeature® software for FDA compliant environments.
