HIGH-SPEED, HIGH-PRECISION, HIGH PRODUCTION CAPACITY BENDING
LVD Strippit offers its PPRM electric press brake. This high efficiency press brake delivers working speeds of up to 25 mm per second, depending on application and safety requirements. The PPRM is a 35-ton machine with a working length of 1250 mm. The machine?s high production capacity is attributed to a simple working principle.
The press brake ram is supported by springs and uses two single-acting hydraulic cylinders. Each hydraulic cylinder is directly connected with a hydraulic pump driven by a servomotor. There are no switching valves in the hydraulic circuit and no lapsed time in the cycle ram because of mechanical movement of the valves. The result is higher production rates and greater machine reliability. Set-up is simplified with a 100 mm throat allowing access to both ends of the ram and bed for tool loading.
Other high production features include an open height of 385 mm and stroke of 185 mm. The PPRM is equipped with LVD?s easy-to-use CADMAN® Express CNC control, a Windows® based system with a user-friendly interface for all levels of programming experience. This exclusive control features an Intel Pentium microprocessor, 20 GB hard disk drive, CD ROM and 12 in TFT screen. CADMAN Express makes bending easy with a number of automatic features, including automatic calculation of bend allowance, automatic selection of tools based on material thickness, and automatic calculation of lower dead point (Y-stroke).
It features graphical representation of tools, program overview in editor mode and in production mode, graphical representation of tools and back-gauge in production mode, and an easy method for adjusting correction angle and correction of bend allowance. The PPRM is available with LVD?s CADMAN B-3D offline programming software, which provides graphic simulation of bending sequences, automatic gauging and tool selection, as well as other features.
LVD?s PPRM press brake uses a reluctance motor to achieve bending speeds that surpass most conventional hydraulic machines. The PPRM?s bending force is proportional with the torque of the servomotor, which can easily be controlled for the application. High precision is realized because there are no mechanical components such as ball screws or gearboxes to wear, and no friction in gearboxes or balls screws to reduce accuracy. The PPRM requires a minimal installed power of 6 kVA, lower than comparable electric press brakes. It consumes on average 30 percent less energy than conventional hydraulic press brakes. The PPRM requires minimal floor space and enables ergonomic operation from a sitting position. Compact and portable, the PPRM can be easily relocated using a forklift, making it ideal for cell manufacturing. Rubber mounting pads facilitate easy installation and relocation.
