HEAVY DUTY, HIGH PRECISION CNC TURNING CENTER

Absolute Machine Tools offers the Ecoca SJ-20, a heavy duty, high precision CNC turning center designed for job shops requiring robust cutting performance and operational flexibility. The SJ-20 is cast from Meehanite iron with a rigid 45 degree slant-bed design. Precision linear ways provide stiffness, high rapid feed rates, and exceptional accuracy.

To ensure precision and thermal stability, headstock, tailstock, and saddle are all mounted on the same plane at a 45 degree angle. The coolant tank is separate from the machine base to prevent heat transfer from the coolant to the machine casting, which ensures precision and promotes easy clean out and maintenance. To further ensure accuracy and precision, ballscrews are double-nut type. The SJ-20’s precision spindle structure is mounted using precision double row roller bearings in conjunction with angular contact ball bearings for high rigidity and accuracy. The spindle quill inner and outer linings are precision ground for fit with the spindle, thus ensuring extreme concentricity and accuracy. The spindle is driven by a 10 hp dual wound high torque motor that provides plenty of power throughout the complete RPM range.

The SJ-20 features a swing over bed of 19 in and a maximum turning diameter of 8.74 in (6.69 in with live tool option). Distance between centers is 13 in and maximum turning diameter is 8.74 in (6.69 in with the live tooling option). A 12 station bi-directional servo turret or optional VDI turret provides .2 second indexing as well as coolant through the tool holders. A full C axis with live tools is available for applications requiring milling operations. The C axis 3 hp spindle motor delivers 4,000 rpm and 0.001 degree accuracy. The Fanuc OiT-C control is standard for industry leading performance and reliability.
