HEARTLAND STEEL SECURES $500,000 IN NEW BUSINESS
Heartland, Inc. (Middleboro, KY), a diversified company with businesses in steel warehousing and fabrication and petroleum retail and wholesale operations, today announced that Heartland Steel, the company’s steel warehousing subsidiary, has received a commitment to purchase steel to be used in a significant public works project in the Mid-West. The value of the new business is approximately $500,000.

In February, Heartland Steel Products acquired Eugene Welding Company (EWCO; Marysville, MI) located northeast of Detriot. EWCO commenced operations in 1954 and manufactures structural steel tubing, which is used as a component for products in original manufacturer automotive, boating, industrial equipment, construction, agricultural, leisure and recreational vehicle markets. End products using EWCO structural steel tubing include trailer hitches, storage racks, boating trailers, boat hoists, forklifts, scaffolding, exercise equipment and recreational vehicles.
