PMC chucks are clamped and unclamped on the top face to enable more chucks to be ganged together compared to side-actuated models. The chucks feature two-stage clamping: fast initial jaw stroke for large opening and a primary stage to provide high clamping force.

PMC chucks are available in 3 in, 4 in 5 in and 6 in sizes, 3- and 2-jaw configurations for OD and ID clamping applications. They are manufactured by MicroCentric and available from stock, along with a full line of precision jaw chucks, diaphragm chucks, quick-change collet chucks. MicroCentric also specializes in designing and manufacturing hardened and precision ground top jaws, part stops, and other tooling for specific machine and workpiece applications.
