Hobart Brothers (Troy, OH) designed its Tri-Mark® TM-101 gas-shielded flux-cored wire for heavy-equipment manufacturers who weld high-strength steel. Designed for A514, A710 and similar HSLA and Q&T steels, the TM-101 welding wire offers a combination of exceptionally low temperature impact toughness with tensile strengths in the 105,000 to 115,000 psi range.
The TM-101 wire is available in .045 in and 1/16 in diameters and offers a smooth and stable arc, low spatter and a flat bead profile, all features that lead to superior welding performance, reliable weld quality and less post-weld cleanup. TM-101 features a low diffusible hydrogen level, 3.8 ml per 100 g of deposited weld, which reduces the chance of hydrogen-induced cracking and any associated rework. The wire?s quick freezing slag makes it ideal for all-position, high deposition welding on either single or multiple pass applications.
Hobart Brothers recommends a 75 percent Argon, 25 percent CO2 gas mixture at a flow rate of 35-50 CFH when using the TM-101 welding wire.
