Fanuc Robotics America, Inc. (Rochester Hills, MI) has introduced "Made for Machine Tools" a website resource for machine tool OEMs, integrators, machine shops and other manufacturers considering using robots to automate a machine tending operation.

The site offers a product reference guide, vision and software options, and videos of robotic machine tending applications.

"We launched Made for Machine Tools to assist companies that are looking to improve their manufacturing processes," said Andy Denny, vice president, Fanuc Robotics America. "Whether a company is shopping for its first robot, or has used robots for many years, this site provides simple guidelines and technical information to help manufacturers determine how to automate their machine tools."

The new site includes a wide range of application videos that provide real-world examples of how robots are used to automate the following machining processes: turning, grinding, boring, cutting, milling, drilling, EDM, machining centers, deburring and metal fabrication.

"Global competition is extremely aggressive, and more companies are adopting robotic automation to increase productivity and flexibility, improve quality and reduce capital costs," said Denny. "For the manufacturers in North America struggling to remain viable, the benefits of robotic automation can help improve their competitive position and prevent them from moving offshore or closing altogether."

Fanuc Robotics America, Inc. designs, engineers and manufactures industrial robots and robotic systems for a wide range of applications including arc and spot welding, material handling (machine tending, picking, packing, palletizing), material removal, assembly, paint finishing and dispensing.
