The World’s Smallest and Lowest-Power 10GigE Cameras 

Emergent Vision Technologies (Port Coquitlam, BC, Canada), a pioneer in high-speed GigE Vision cameras and zero-copy and zero-loss vision technologies, now offers Eros, the world’s smallest and lowest-power lineup of 10GigE cameras. The machine vision cameras offer the same full features as Emergent’s HR 10GigE cameras, and for those requiring lower speeds, the Eros BaseT/RJ45 can auto-negotiate to 5GigE, 2.5GigE, or 1GigE while offering the same support for zero-copy imaging and GPUDirect, at a cost-effective price.

These cameras target the detection of materials and substances invisible to the naked eye, opening a new range of applications, including food and beverage inspection, agricultural imaging, or semiconductor and electronics inspection.

Faster Measurement and Inspection on a Larger Benchtop System

Starrett now offers the AVR400 Vision Metrology System for faster, accurate measurement and inspection on a larger platform benchtop system.

The L.S. Starrett Co. (Athol, MA) has expanded its AVR Vision Metrology Line with the new AVR400 CNC Vision System. It is the largest benchtop platform to date from Starrett with stage travel that is twice the speed of previous models. The stage travel is 15.8″-x-11.8″-x-7.9″ (400 mm-x-300 mm-x-200 mm) in the X-Y-Z axes with a speed of up to 120 mm/sec.

The Starrett AVR400 offers full CNC capabilities including X-Y-Z positioning and comprehensive zoom and telecentric lens options. Users can also choose to use motorized manual positioning via a pendant with a joystick and track ball. Equipped with the M3 software package from MetLogix™, a traditional mouse as well as a touchscreen monitor make user interaction easy and intuitive.

Auto part recognition enables creating a part measurement program that comprises the desired features of a part for inspection, which can automatically be saved in the system or to a network. Programmable light output options can be built into the program as defined steps, including being called up as the part recognition program initiates. Once the program is created, placing that part within the camera’s field-of-view allows for the saved program to initiate and run the inspection.

This latest enhancement promises to elevate the precision and efficiency of non-contact measurements, further solidifying Mitutoyo’s commitment to providing innovative technology solutions to meet modern quality control needs.

Key features of the MetLogix M3 Software with Quick Image include: pattern-based measurements to measure several points in a single action; advanced video probes for fast, accurate edge and feature capture; field of view measurement which detects, measures, and displays results without the need for operator intervention; and super image stitching, which utilizes an ultra-long 90 mm working distance to capture and stitch multiple frames into a single image. With the enhanced capabilities of the M3 software, the Quick Image system can support a wide range of workpiece sizes, measuring up to 400 mm with its stage stitching function.
