Elite Craft Support is Now Core Crew

The new brand and website represent the company's current and future perspective to recruit and place the best talent in the skilled trades, including welders, pipe fitters, ironworkers, millwrights, plumbers, carpenters, electricians, and other skilled positions.
62 percent of construction firms reported earlier that they are having a hard time filling key craft worker positions. There is a predicted shortfall of 10 million skilled workers in manufacturing by 2020.

Elite Craft Support (Cincinnati, OH), a full-service employment agency for the skilled trades, has changed its name to Core Crew and launched a new website – www.corecrew.com.

The new brand and website represent the company’s current and future perspective to recruit and place the best talent in the skilled trades, including welders, pipe fitters, ironworkers, millwrights, plumbers, carpenters, electricians, and other skilled positions.

“It’s becoming harder and harder for companies to locate skilled tradesmen and tradeswomen. At Core Crew, we are making it easy by offering a one-stop agency for these workers and screening applicants with rigorous assessments,” said Darren Callihan, the director of operations for Core Crew. “For those looking for work, we’re connecting skilled workers to those open positions and filling jobs.”

The need for this kind of employment service is critical in the U.S. The statistics are staggering:

    •  62 percent of construction firms reported earlier that they are having a hard time filling key craft worker positions, according to the Associated General Contractors of America (AGC)
    •  58 percent of welders are 45 years or older, according to the Virginia Manufacturers Association
    •  Predicted shortfall of 10 million skilled workers in manufacturing by 2020, according to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics

Callihan said the company’s new name is familiar to those who work on construction sites and in manufacturing facilities. “The Core Crew is made up of those workers who bring their best to the job site every day. Companies will do whatever they can to keep these employees, even when their business is slow. And employees all want to be a part of that elite group,” he said. “At Core Crew, our mission is to put those great employees to work at the job sites that need them.”

The new Core Crew website is designed to make it easier to do that. With a comprehensive online application, skilled workers who want to join the Core Crew and be considered for jobs can apply in just a few minutes. The website also features an interactive database of open jobs that applicants can review. “We know what it takes to get this done – to find the best of the best and put them to work,” Callihan said.

The Core Crew screening and evaluation process is based on decades of experience in recruiting skilled workers in the construction industry. The agency also has a relationship with Elite Welding Academy, headquartered in Cincinnati with locations opening across the country, to provide training opportunities for those interested in joining the skilled trades.
“Our industry needs to do a better job of letting people know that we have well-paid and fulfilling career opportunities,” Callihan said. “Core Crew is working to connect people and careers in these fields.”

Core Crew is a full-service employment agency for the skilled trades, from AutoCAD technicians to welders. The agency connects employers who are looking to hire high-quality employees with a “core crew” of team members – that group of A-players who bring knowledge, skill and hard work to every job site. Core Crew has vast experience working with skilled craftsmen. Core Crew is headquartered in Cincinnati and serves applicants and clients for job sites and projects across the United States.
