Palmer Wahl’s HSB50 Heat Spy calibrator can be used to verify the reading of hand-held infrared thermometers and thermal cameras and/or provide greater- accuracy measurements for thermal imaging temperature scanning systems.

Designed for calibrating infrared temperature sensors to measure skin temperature, the HSB50 Heat Spy infrared calibration unit from Palmer Wahl Instruments Inc. (Asheville, NC) has a fixed emissivity setting of 0.98 at 2.83 inches (72 mm) square and an accuracy of ±0.05 degrees at 98.6 degrees F (37 degrees C). It’s NIST-calibrated with a transfer standard at time of manufacture so no error or offset is required (annual re-certification is available to maintain accuracy).

The portable unit with built-in carry handle features nonskid feet suitable for any horizontal surface. It can be used as a benchtop reference device to verify the readings of hand-held noncontact infrared thermometers or thermal imaging cameras. Use the included tripod seat for temporary or permanent mounting to use the unit as a background reference for thermal imaging or elevated skin temperature scanning systems.

With an 85V to 250V AC power supply and 6-foot cord with selectable plug, the HSB50 can be used without additional equipment. RS485 PC interface available as an option.

Choose temperature scale (F or C) and power connector plug to configure the unit for your location and application.
