Dorsey Metrology International, Inc. and MPI, Inc. to Host Students for MFG Day 2025
For the second consecutive year, Dorsey Metrology International and MPI, two Poughkeepsie-based manufacturing leaders, are teaming up with Dutchess BOCES to host students for Manufacturing Day (MFG Day). The national event, designed to inspire interest in modern manufacturing careers, will take place on Friday, October 3, 2025.
Students from Dutchess BOCES’ Welding program will tour both MPI and Dorsey Metrology facilities to experience firsthand the innovation and craftsmanship shaping American manufacturing today. The event aligns with the national “Creators Wanted” initiative, which encourages students to explore high-demand, high-tech career paths in advanced manufacturing.
“Dutchess BOCES is grateful to our industry partners for sharing their time and expertise with our students and helping them look at the future with innovation in mind,” said Dutchess BOCES District Superintendent Dr. Jodi DeLucia. “Events and trips like this help students see that what they learn in their Career and Technical Institute classes applies to the actual work they will be doing. It is also a starting point for them to develop their networks with industry professionals who may be able to guide them throughout their career.”
During the tours, MPI will demonstrate its Automated Pattern Assembly System, showcasing cutting-edge automation in production. Dorsey Metrology will highlight traditional precision-based assembly and machining techniques that remain essential to today’s manufacturing excellence.
