Curtains for Machine Guarding
The REAR-GUARD® name has been synonymous with custom expandable perimeter and machine guarding throughout the world for decades. (Frankfort, IL) strengthens this product line to include a variety of curtain options to further increase safety. Made of strong stainless steel mesh, these safety curtains can be added to any REAR-GUARD product. When used with a REAR-GUARD barrier, the curtains maintain flow-through ventilation, and visibility for monitoring operations, while capturing flying debris and preventing hands, fingers and other objects from entering the guarded area.
Orange welding curtains attach directly to the REAR-GUARD barrier, and close with the guarding eliminating the need for overhead rails to hold a welding curtain. These safety curtains can be added to any REAR-GUARD product. When used with a Rear-Guard barrier, they maintain visibility for monitoring operations, and add protection for others around a welding cell. A heavy weight, 3 mm opening, nylon mesh curtain attachment can also be added to any REAR-GUARD product. When used with a Rear-Guard barrier, the curtains maintain flow-through ventilation, and visibility for monitoring operations, preventing hands and fingers from entering the guarded area. “This has been a very successful product line and, now with the help of our customers, we have designed a line of curtains to further increase safety for particular manufacturing environments,” noted James Pfeiffer Jr., the chairman of North American Safety Products. ”For shops that prioritize safety or have had injuries, claims or OSHA penalties, these curtains provide an added level of safety that are quickly becoming the new standard.”
North American Safety products says the curtain lines can be added to existing REAR-GUARD barriers or specified for new orders. The REAR-GUARD barrier can still be operated with one-hand and provides maximum clearance for access even with the addition of the curtains.
