COMPONENT SOFTWARE PRODUCTS ENHANCED TO IMPROVE FUNCTION, PERFORMANCE

Siemens PLM Software, offers releases of two of its industry-leading D-Cubed™ component software products. Version 54.0 of 2D Dimensional Constraint Manager (2D DCM) and Profile Geometry Manager (PGM) contain new enhancements to improve function and performance.

The D-Cubed Profile Geometry Manager (PGM) is a software component that adds a range of productivity tools to 2D DCM based design environments. The PGM performs advanced operations on connected loops of geometry, such as offsetting and computing properties, for example length and area. Version 54 introduces a new function that enables applications to automatically create a copy of a loop and apply a given transformation, or reflection about an axis. The new function will make it easier for applications to generate multiple instances of a profile, for example in creating linear and circular patterns of geometry, or symmetric profiles, which can subsequently be constrained using the 2D DCM. The PGM outputs a journal file that records function calls and their outcomes. This file is used by D-Cubed Component support staff to debug any functional issues with a PGM integration. Version 54 releases various enhancements to this journaling tool.
